Miriam Alves is author of two volumes of poetry, Momentos de Busca and Estrelas no dedo, as well as a play, Terramar. Her work also appears in numerous collections of poetry and critical essays. She is employed as a social worker. Carolyn Richardson Durham is chairperson of the department of foreign languages at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, NC.
